Factors Affecting the Selection of Survival Strategies for the Urban Poor: A Case Study of Residents of Disfunctional Tissues in Torbat-e Jam

Introduction: Urban poor use many initiatives to survive before they reach a real dead end in life and pose fundamental risks themselves the host community. There is variety of strategies used by households Iran world with different consequences depending on type extent use. Method: This descriptive analytical study has investigated factors affecting selection survival among residents disfunctional urban tissues (marginal section). Due nature subject, data were obtained two ways, including qualitative (sample size 30 households) quantitative (survey 300 living this area). The collected analyzed qualitatively based content analysis (according Brown Clark’S framework) quantitatively form logistic regression. Findings: results showed that although number choose risky small, around 10%, same very important considering border situation city question its cultural social conditions. Quantitative investigations also show little capital are twice as likely high-risk those who capital. Discussion: development not only prevents them from remaining cycle but helps consider have least social, family, individual even if enter poverty. To strengthen capital, it necessary associations connections inhabitants contexts.
